First full week into the New Year, new you blah blah blah.  You know I am not one for resolutions.  Too definitive and enclosing in my opinion.  But since we are at the beginning of a new year, I would like to address one thing.  Yes, it may be a new year but its the same old you.

Same old habits.

Same old excuses.

Same old b.s.

January, to me, is the perfect time for R&R; reflection and restoration.  Reflecting on all the good and bad from the prior year and restoring your habits to create positive changes.  Maybe this is not going all in January 1, 2 or 3 but making small changes that are effective.

For instance, meal prep.  Maybe you completely do amazing for 3 days and then by day 4 you throw all F’s to the wind and eat Lucky Charms for the next 5 days.  I get it.  We’ve all been there.  But in order to create this new change, you must first identify what happens between day 3 and 4 when you fail.  Could it be boredom?  Time? Or maybe even Day 4 is when you start feeling burn out in your “health” routine?  Whatever the case may be, start addressing it, preparing for it and take action against it.

Success is small and measurable.  Don’t just take a leap and hope it works out.

Now is the time to stop making the same old b.s. excuses.  Stop the habits that hold you back.  Stop being your old perpetual self that you get tired of.  You are more than the walls you build up around yourself and you are more than the same old “Im just big boned” or “Nothing ever works on me” crap lines.

Tell yourself right now that you are worth every bit of your goals for yourself.  Tell the future you that you are proud of the hard work and guts she took to earn her time in the spotlight.  Tell the girl looking back at you in the mirror that you will not accept anything less than 100% drive from her in achieving success in 2018!

This is your time.  Your time to make your life what you want. Take charge sister!  Ill be cheering you on from the corner!
